The West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme is a flagship initiative by the Government of West Bengal designed to support students in pursuing higher education without financial burden. Students enrolled in the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program at Durgapur Institute of Nursing Sciences are eligible to apply under this scheme.

Key Features

• Loan Amount: Up to ₹10 lakh for pursuing approved courses in India or abroad.
• Interest Rate: 4% per annum simple interest (reduced to 1% for timely repayment).
• Repayment Period: 15 years, including a 1-year moratorium after course completion.
• Coverage: Includes tuition fees, hostel and mess charges, books, uniforms, study materials, laptops, and related academic expenses.
• Collateral: No collateral or guarantor is required; the loan is secured by the state government.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years.
• Enrolled in a recognized course like GNM in an approved institution in India or abroad.
• Maximum age: 40 years at the time of application.

Application Process

1. Visit the official portal: https://wbscc.wb.gov.in
2. Register as a student and fill in the required academic, personal, and course-related details.
3. Upload supporting documents such as admission letter, Aadhar card, proof of residence, recent photograph, and academic certificates.
4. Submit the application for verification by the institute.
5. After institute verification, the application will be forwarded to the bank for processing. Upon approval, the loan will be disbursed directly.
