The admission process for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program at Durgapur Institute of Nursing Sciences is conducted as per the regulations of the West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC). The process is based on merit and conducted transparently.

Step-by-Step Admission Process

1. Application Submission:
   Interested candidates must apply through the official WBNC admission portal or as directed by the institute, submitting accurate academic and personal details along with the required documents.
2. Merit List Preparation:
   Applications are evaluated based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination. A merit list is prepared according to WBNC norms, including applicable reservation categories.
3. Counseling & Seat Allocation:
   Shortlisted candidates are called for centralized or institute-level counseling sessions, where seats are allotted based on merit and preference.
4. Document Verification:
   Selected candidates must report to the institute with original documents for verification:
   • 10+2 mark sheet and certificate
   • Age proof (birth certificate or equivalent)
   • Caste/PwD certificate (if applicable)
   • Medical fitness certificate
   • Recent passport-size photographs
5. Fee Payment & Enrollment:
   Upon successful document verification, candidates are required to pay the admission fees. A provisional admission letter and student ID are then issued.
