The College of Nursing at Durgapur Institute of Nursing Science is comprised of five major academic departments: Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and Obstetrics & Gynaecologic Nursing. Our faculty is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service learning. All departments emphasize the highest standards of professional nursing care and encourage the all-round development of students.
This department lays the foundation of nursing, instilling in students the core values and essential skills required for a successful career in nursing. The course covers communication, ethical behavior, decision-making, and other core topics. Faculty also teach Microbiology, Psychology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Physiology.
This department prepares students to care for adults with diverse medical-surgical conditions. Students engage in seminars, case presentations, and practicals in various specialized units including Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, and ENT. Postgraduate students may specialize in Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Nephrology, or Oncology Nursing.

Focusing on positive health and preventive care, this department trains students to care for individuals, families, and populations. Clinical training is provided at urban and rural centers. Students participate in health surveys, national programs, mass campaigns, and outreach clinics.

This course focuses on the care of infants and children, addressing both common and complex pediatric conditions. Students are exposed to pediatric wards and units like cardiology and neurology. The postgraduate program allows specialization in neonatal and pediatric nursing.
